Orcas (Orcinus orca), commonly known as killer whales because of their massive size as the largest species of dolphin. They are the only living species in the genus Orcinus. They are found in all of the world's oceans, from the frigid Arctic and Antarctic regions to tropical seas. Orcas are known to be social, like the lion. They hunt in pods, which give them the name 'sea wolf'.

Orcas eat fish, seals, sea lions, and other whales. Orca cannibalism has also been reported. Orcas take hours to kill one large blue whale. The Great White Shark is also known to be killed by orcas.

Appearance & color[]

Orcas are black and white. They have eye patches above their eyes. They have 56 razor-sharp teeth. They camouflage using countershade.

Threats[]

Orcas have no natural threats.
